[tex-k] Uninterruptible loop in web2c TeX

    1) run `tex'
    2) type `\relax' and <return>
    3) press Ctrl+C
    4) press Ctrl+D

    On my system I get uninterruptible endless loop which prints:

        *(Please type a command or say `\end'.)

I don't get any loop with the tex that's part of TL'20.
I get the expected "(Please type a command or say `\end'.)",
but no loop; I'm returned to the * prompt and can duly enter \end. -k
