> 1) WAS THE LOCATION FOR THE CONFERENCE INTERESTING? >From a traveller's point of view : yes, a lot. >From a GUT board member point of view, I have to say that many people wondered why Stanford was not chosen to celebrate this anniversary : it would have been much less expensive for many people, and 'apropos' too. > 2) WERE THE TOPICS COVERED OF INTEREST TO YOU? My main interest in coming to these conferences is to meet people. I'm not a professional TeX user, only a casual user, so I would say yes. > 3) LIST THE TALKS/SUBJECTS THAT WERE THE MOST VALUABLE TO YOU. > 4) LIST THE TALKS/SUBJECTS THAT WERE THE LEAST VALUABLE TO YOU. > --------INTERNET CONNCECTIONS > 5) WERE YOU SATISFIED WITH THE INTERNET ACCESS PROVIDED? As long as I was able to connect using a cable, yes (the wireless stuff was almost Apple only compatible ;-) ) > 6) WAS IT HELPFUL TO HAVE THE iBOOKS AVAILABLE AT THE WORKSHOPS AND > FOR EMAIL ACCESS? yes > --------ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORTATION: > 7) DID YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH HOTEL ACCOMMODATION? no, except it was way too expensive for us ;-) Among all the hotels we stayed during our trip, the Double Tree hotel in Bakersfield provided the best service. The people at the conference hotel did not provide such a warm welcome, and the rates are really high (exemple: $15 per day for Internet access in the room, whereas it was $15 per stay at the Double Tree). In fact, we got the impression that the Outrigger is really greedy (which did not prevent us to stay there for 11 nights !) > 8) WERE HOTEL CHARGES AS YOU EXPECTED? yes > 9) DID YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH TRANSPORTATION? no
