Suppressing an unwanted header.

Hi.  One last (I hope!) thing.  I have now realised that if the document
in question has more than one page, then the unwanted footer appears on
page 2 and any pages thereafter.

Can you tell me how to suppress the footer on all pages?  (I tried a
few things, but none of them worked.  Unsurprising, given my complete
lack of understanding.)
