If you updated texlive using MacTeX, the PATH variable is handled automatically and there is nothing to do.

If you updated texlive using the TL install script, please go to the MacTeX web page and read about the install script at

https://tug.org/mactex/mactex-unix-download.html

Keep reading the page until you come to the paragraph which begins "Installation is not quite done; a small data structure ...". This will provide a link to a very small install package which will fix PATH and give you the standard TeX Dist data structure used on the Mac.

If neither of these is appropriate and you really need to change PATH yourself, the new PATH should point to

/usr/local/texlive/2022/bin/universal-darwin

on Monterey.
