How can I install MikTex on CentOS 7?

I had a somewhat similar problem on Mint 19 and anaconda 3. It appears
that Anaconda itself or some package in anaconda installs a very incomplete
LaTeX. (I suspect it may be required for Pandoc or Jupyter or some other
package but really don't know.)
I fixed the problem by ensuring that my installation of tex-live was found
by placing tex-live first in my PATH environment. You can check which
versions of the TeX programs TeXstudio is using with |HELP|Check Latex
installation|.
I did a search for the anaconda latex files this evening and could not find
them. Perhaps they have been removed by some update to an anaconda package.
