[texhax] Book class - blank page

Hi,
I am using book class in LaTeX to typeset my book.  Using the defaults, all
the chapters begin on odd numbered pages.  That means when the previous
chapter ends on an odd numbered page there will be a blank page before the
new chapter begins.  This looks nice but means use of more paper.

I would like to know if there is a setting which i can use to allow a new
chapter to begin on either an odd numbered page or even numbered page.

By the way I am using MikTeX 2.7.
