[texhax] Float in multicol

Hello all,

I've been trying unsuccessfully to insert a two columns-wide picture
into a four column multicol environment (as in newspapers).
Multicols handles floats but it takes the whole width.

Does anyone know the way to insert a picture which has a width in columns that is 
different from the number of columns defined in the multicol
environment ?

Here is an example that may be completed ...

************************************
\begin{multicols}{5}

bla bla bla

and now the two columns picture
\centerline{\fbox{
\includegraphics{picture.jpg}}}

and now the text carrys on with 5 columns... wrapping as well the
picture.

************************************

Are there any picture inserting packages that may be compatible with
multicol ?
