No, snaps are bad. The are like containers, the libraries are not
available for other programs.
You see also that every program has to bring their own libglut.

Ok, I checked Debian stable, and that is what is in Debian stable AFAIR.

and libglut.so.3 should be a link to the 3.9.0, after ldconfig has been
run. That has always been like that.

If Ubuntu does break that, baehh.
