problem with \ProcessKeyOptions

That is the version of pdftex which is not relevant  here. Check you are
using the June LaTeX release, ie the terminal and log show:

LaTeX2e <2022-06-01> patch level 4
L3 programming layer <2022-06-16>

(or patch level 5 which went to ctan yesterday)

Also note the change in command name: \ProcessKeysOptions. in the package,
the new code in the format has no s: \ProcessKeyOptions.
