tlmgr fails on Solaris 10

I asked upstream (not for the first time) to revert their gratuitous
switch from `...` to $(...). I hope the maintainer does so.

    /bin/bash

Is bash a standard part of Solaris 10? That seems ... strange.
There's probably some other Solaris shell that supports $(...)?
Maybe just /bin/ksh? I can't check any more. --thanks, karl.
