Hi Tyge (and all),

    When TeX prints the context after an error message there is a
    superfluous space after "<insert>" as compared to other input stack
    types such as "<*>".

Indeed. Bug added at https://tug.org/texmfbug/newbug.html#B134insertspace
especially since Metafont (mf.web line 13511) does not produce this
