The TeX Live Guide
http://tug.org/texlive/doc/texlive-en/texlive-en.html#ack
chapter 9 (Release history), section 9.1 (Past) contains a statement
"The system now included a complete Windows setup."
(second paragraph). Though some people are honored for their work
on Unix, it's not mentioned who provided the binaries for Windows.
Since I honor everything Fabrice did in order to make teTeX
platform-independent, I think that his work should be mentioned here.
TeX Live still benefits a lot from Fabrice's work.
The first release of TeX Live was based on Thomas Esser's teTeX and
supported Unix systems only. Shortly after teTeX was released,
Fabrice ported it to Windows and called his distribution fpTeX.
I think that Fabrice and fpTeX should be mentioned here because
without Fabrice's work TeX Live would never be what it is today.
Regards,
Reinhard
