Hmmm, I found that it is better to use in the current directory
a copy of tex4ht.env with one line modified:

i~/tex4ht.dir/texmf/tex4ht/ht-fonts/iso8859/2/!
                                           ===
so the resulting .html file will use iso8859-2 and will be much smaller
