[texhax] What program can I use to edit TeX files?

TeX files are plain text: you can edit them in any text editor. Word is
a not-so-good choice as it's standard method of working is to save in
binary format. Something as simple as Notepad will work, although there
are many specialist TeX or programmers editors which may make life easier.
