Thanks! Hm, in some other millenium, I had my own little nesting macro.

An issue very relevant for me today is the order of "outer" punctuation 
at the end of the quote, 

	"Hi",	vs.	"Hi,"

Only in most recent years I have acknowledged that the second form 
is typographically superior, and that this may override the logical order 
as in the first form. I think there are different views about this order today, 
i.e., it may depend on the publisher (I think), and I wonder whether there 
is a package that allows an automatical choice between these two options.

(I think this is irrelevant in German where the first form is obligatory.)

In TeX documentation, I often see that a comma is not included in 
single quotation marks just because this would be really misleading, 
as in `^^+' turning into `k,' you see?
