But quite probably doesn't do whatever you expect it to do. You
can't put simply a color in the second argument. The syntax of the
command is:
\setbeamercolor{some beamer element}{fg=red}
or
\setbeamercolor{some beamer element}{bg=red}
(fg=foreground, bg=background)
You get an error with xkeyval because it is better in error checking
