I am indeed surprised and pleased how simple the left/right alignment
with column type `l' for the spanning cell is
(rather thought of and tried \begin{tabular}{lr}).
For the `... ... ...' requirement indeed I don't know of a LaTeX package
replacing the primitive \leaders commands, so this requirement
seems to have required a Plain TeX expert.
