FYI ... my general idea of the tl release schedule at this point:

- program (build) updates are now frozen (aside from some final
  portability tweaks) unless a critical bug emerges.
  
- I plan to freeze package updates around July 15.

- Build candidate images for a few days, only fixing critical bugs and
  final doc tweaks.

- Deliver final release image to DANTE by July 22 for Manfred to start
  building the full TeX Collection DVD.  That is always a lengthy
  process with lots of qa, and then production itself takes time, so the
  best guess at this point is that DVD's will begin appear in member
  mailboxes "sometime in September".  We'll see.
