Jean-Guy,

Your problem is that the ".tex" file you saved is a LaTeX source file; 
you must run LaTeX on the source file in order to generate the DVI file.

You can run LaTeX on a file using a variety of methods, but it's been so 
long since I used MiKTeX that I can only point you to this page of 
MiKTeX's online documentation:
