[texhax] controlling pdf reader (was Re: beamer and "Read out loud")

Hi,
maybe a bit late ...
however,

1) the reload function after file change is a feature of different 
pdf-viewers under Linux.

2) For other readers, the depicted page can be reloaded with a parameter 
flag from the command line.

No need for external programs you just have to call the pdf-viewer with 
a certain parameter flag from your latex editor, or it even detects the 
change automagically and refresh.

Unfortunately, I forgot which reader is capable of which feature.
But check the typical readers for your distro. okualar, xpdf, evince.

I once wrote a little python script which observed the desired pdf file 
and send the refresh command if the file changed. With this the 
functionality of the 2nd kind of viewers became the same as for the 
first kind. Unfortunately I can not find it anymore....
