I would advice you to join the MacOSX-TeX mailing list:

http://email.esm.psu.edu/mailman/listinfo/macosx-tex

and tell there how did you install TeX (MacTeX, TeXLive...?) and if you upgraded your OS recently (Leopard --> Snow Leopard).
