Not an easy task, especially for Slavic languages: see "Ordinal
Numbers in Various Languages" on Typophile at
<http://typophile.com/node/42577>. Some languages have different
suffixes for singular & plural, or for gender, or for case(!).
In the restricted sense of dates, one hopes that all days of the month
have the same number & gender, but case might still be an issue.
