[texhax] question on customization of preview-latex

Hello All,

I have a question regarding the customization of the preview-latex
package that works together with latex, emacs, and auctex.

Specifically, I was wondering if anyone could provide some pointers on how 
to get preview-latex to accept a supporting file full of customized 
short-cut commands? (latex accepts them using \usepackage, but preview 
latex-appears not to recognize them).
