At a guess, you're \input ing a file which begins with a command which
starts a new page, say \chapter in a book class.

Try this:
\documentclass{minimal}
\begin{document}
This is a test
\input{test}
Continuing the test.
\include{test}
\end{document}
test.tex should contain something like:
This is the file test.tex which can be either input or included.
