[texhax] individual chapter authors and TOC

Dear list,

For an edited volume where each chapter is separately authored, I would 
like the TOC to first list the chapter title and then, on the next line, 
the author(s) name in somewhat differently formatted text.  Is there a 
package I'm overlooking or suggested script to handle this behavior 
gracefully?  My amateur hacking hasn't produced good results.
