Apologies to Phil for my misquoting his suggestion. I am so used to
using the LaTeX notation for things, I automatically converted into that 
format. Maybe one day I'll understand the distinction between the two
formats and get it right. I've not tested the 'correct' notation, but I'm sure
that it would do just as well.
