Well, *I* wasn't completely happy with it. Karl didn't use it either.

So do I. (Exactly, I use a shell function, but anyway.)

I was thinking of that. It would be like 3 lines of texlua for the basic
features. But it could share some code with texdoc for the preferences
settings (choosing the default pager). So I'm not sure whether it should
be a separate program.

Not strong opinion on whether such a basic texsource program would be
useful.
