[tex4ht] tex4ht vs pgf

I'm running into the same issue that Victor is describing.

It appears that this problem is caused by .../pgf/systemlayer/pgfsys-tex4ht.def. 
If I run the same document through regular latex - so that 
.../pgf/systemlayer/pgfsys-dvips.def is included instead, 
which appears to be the only difference - then the error does 
not occur.

If I had to guess further, I would pin the blame on line 89 of 
pgfsys-tex4ht.def which says:

\def\pgfsys at svg@newline{\Hnewline}

Unfortunately, I'm not tex-literate enough to confirm or fix this. I 
hope that this is useful for someone more knowledgeable than me.
