[tex-live] calling mktexnam, bug or misconf?

Hi

trying texlive2016, i get the following error msg:

LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `T2A/wncyr/m/n' undefined

kpathsea: Running mktextfm larm1200
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/web2c/mktexnam: Could not map source
abbreviation  for larm1200.
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/web2c/mktexnam: Need to update ?

clearly, it should call /usr/share/texlive/***2016***/texmf-dist/web2c/mktexnam
instead. (i fixed my compilation by running > mktextfm larm1200;  directly)

Is it a bug or a misconfiguration on my side?
