[tex-live] Problems with non-7bit characters in filename

To the best of my knowledge, luatex supports and has always supported
Latin-N and other 8-bit encodings (by internally converting them to
UTF-8, but that's irrelevant).

Thus, Klaus, I myself think that what you are describing is indeed a
bug, and I think it needs to be reported to the LuaTeX developers (Taco
et al.).  That's supposed to be http://tracker.luatex.org, but it (and
luatex.org) are down for me right now.  I'll write Taco.
