thanks.
i've been working with pspic for long time now and found it simple yet
powerful (see pictures on pp. 558-9 of the attached paper). is there a
replacement package supported by tex live, where i can use postscript
commands like the following
\documentclass[12pt]{article}
\usepackage{euscript,amsfonts,amssymb,pspic,graphicx,yfonts}
\usepackage[dvips]{geometry}
\usepackage{rotating}
\begin{document}
\begin{figure}[htbn]
\begin{picture}(100,130)
\psbox{350 -50 translate
160 0 moveto 0 0 lineto 0 160 lineto 2 setlinewidth stroke newpath
%10 20 3 0 360 arc fill stroke newpath
90 60 50 0 360 arc stroke
showpage}
{\tiny
\put(528,-47){\makebox(0,0)[t]{{\Huge $\mbox{\boldmath $u_1$}$}}}
\put(350,129){\makebox(0,0)[t]{{\Huge $\mbox{\boldmath $u_2$}$}}}
\put(440,30){\makebox(0,0)[r]{{\Huge $\mbox{\boldmath $S$}$}}}
}
\end{picture}
\end{figure}
\end{document}
