I find that the installation failed:
Downloading http://ftp.math.purdue.edu/mirrors/ctan.org/systems/\
texlive/tlnet/archive/impatient-fr.tar.xz did not succeed.
Installation failed.
Rerunning the installer will try to restart the installation.
Or you can restart by running the installer with:
install-tl --profile installation.profile [EXTRA-ARGS]
Writing install-tl.log in current working directory.
Segmentation fault
I don't know what this "impatient-fr" is. Certainly a lot did download
from the archive. I can run the installer again and see after the five
hours or so if I get the same message, but I'd rather know what
happened.
The log had this:
Loading http://ftp.math.purdue.edu/mirrors/ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/tlpkg$
Installing TeX Live 2011 from: http://ftp.math.purdue.edu/mirrors/ctan.org/syst$
Platform: i386-linux => 'Intel x86 with GNU/Linux'
Distribution: net (downloading)
Using URL: http://ftp.math.purdue.edu/mirrors/ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet
Directory for temporary files: /tmp
My /tmp directory is huge.
Installing [1022/2361, time/total: 01:42:55/04:14:32]: hyphen-interlingua [1k]
Installing [1023/2361, time/total: 01:
Ouch. This is where the log stops. I'll bet the break point was
"impatient-fr". This says installation stopped before two hours. I'm
about to rerun installation, but it will have to run when I'm out of
town for a few days.
