The issue here is related to the engine, AFAICT luaotfload is properly
delivering font structure as the engine expects it, the problem seems to
be related to that catcode thing which is beyond my comprehension,
whether it is a luatex bug or feature is too beyond me.

Also note that the algorithm used for OpenType math fonts is not
identical to the original Knuth algorithm (which is still used for TFM
math fonts).
