[tex-live] two config.ps, dvips reads the 'bad' one (for configured paper size)

Hi Jean-Pierre,

      kpsewhich --format="dvips config" config.ps
        #> /spare/opt/texlive/2010/texmf/dvips/config/config.ps

When I run that on my standard TL'10 installation, I get the
expected texmf-config path:

  $ kpsewhich --format="dvips config" config.ps
  /usr/local/texlive/2010/texmf-config/dvips/config/config.ps

Therefore, I can only surmise that something in your setup has changed
the paths or texmf.cnf file.  For instance, environment variables
(perhaps set by the native tetex 3.0 system ...).
