[tex-live] New Bug: Rotating Package Broken After Update

Dear TexLive folks,

with my last TexLive update, obviously a new glitch in the rotating 
package has been introduced. All of the sudden a rather big document 
that used to compile almost perfectly before stopped with quite some 
weird error messages. These error messages are almost identical with 
those produced by this minimal example:

    \documentclass[a4paper,10pt]{article}
    \usepackage{rotating}
    \usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc}

    \begin{document}

Does this make sense to anyone? Maybe someone has a solution for this?
