[tex-live] fmtutil-sys --no-error-if-no-format --byengine pdftex failed (status 1)

Hi all!

on this night's update I got the following error:

> running fmtutil-sys --no-error-if-no-format --byengine pdftex ...
> fmtutil-sys --no-error-if-no-format --byengine pdftex failed (status 1), output:
> fmtutil: running `pdftex -ini   -jobname=amstex -progname=amstex -translate-file=cp227.tcx *amstex.ini' ...
> This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.11 (TeX Live 2010) (INITEX)

and after lots of lines reporting format-creation at the end:
