[tex-live] .otf vs. .ttf fonts

I've found that in tl2010 repository we have several .ttf and .otf fonts
with the same basic names:
arkandis/libris/ (only those from arkandis)
public/Asana-Math/
public/gnu-freefont/

The question is: which fonts are used for XeTeX and cached by fc-cache?

Ps. more investigations later, Janusz Nowacki told me that some
gentium fonts are unusable, but have to check it myself...
