Which is already done in some Linux live-cds: if you insert them in your drive
while running windows, an application starts and presents a menu, with a
selection of cross-platform free software you may want to install on windows, or
a tutorial about how to run and/or install Linux. Quite a smart move imo.

It is sort of what we are doing: we put a autorun.inf file at the DVD's root (I
mean the TL iso burnt to a DVD, not the TeX collection), which automagically
detects the platform and runs the wizard installer on Windows, and lets the user
decide on Linux: perfect adaptation to what the typical user of each system
wants. (I'm assuming Mac users would install MacTeX.)
Manuel.
