[tex-live] latex and pagestyle{fancy}

Hi together,

i'm using the package fancyhdr and the problem is that following code in 
my tex file will only be active from the 5th page of my document. The 
pages 1-4 are standard latex footnotes.

\pagestyle{fancy}
\renewcommand{\sectionmark}[1]{\markboth{\emph{#1}}{}}
\fancyhf{}
\fancyhead[LE,RO]{\textbf{\thepage}}
\fancyhead[LO,RE]{\textbf{\leftmark}}
\fancyfoot[LE,RO]{J\"urg Hunziker}
\fancyfoot[LO,RE]{\today}
\renewcommand{\headrulewidth}{0.5pt}
\renewcommand{\footrulewidth}{0.5pt}

Andy ideas ?
