[tex-live] TeXLive 2008 installation over the Internet breaks for Solaris10 x86

What about making the installer software walk over the path, searching
for GNU tar (this is, looking for `tar' and `gtar') and prefer this if
found?  Otherwise, a warning could be emitted that the system's native
`tar' might cause problems.
