[tex-live] Adding a font map? (I want to install URW Arial font).

I looked in that section, and the only thing that refers to maps is 
updmap.cfg  I put a MAP line in there, but obviously that's not the only thing 
I need to do, as it still doesn't work.  It says:

mktextfm: Could not map typeface abbreviation ri for Arial
mktextfm: Need to update... fontname/special.map?
.
.
.
Running mktexmf Arial
mktexmf: empty or non-existent rootfile!
! I can't find file 'Arial".

What else do I need to do?  Thanks. - Mark
