btw, I put "slow" in quotes because there is NOTHING out there to compare 
Tiqwah against. Indeed, in this sense Tiqwah is unique because there is no 
system capable of correctly typesetting Hebrew with both vowels and 
accents. This remained so since the 80s when Yannis Haralambous wrote 
Tiqwah.

This should be a challenge to anyone who understands these issues --- to 
write a free replacement of the Tiqwah system. I like Tiqwah very much and 
put a lot of effort (e.g. wrote an extra preprocessor layer) to adapt my 
stuff to it, but I'll gladly throw it all away if there is an open-source 
alternative...
