Last year I have written to the people who maintain this and they told 
me they would provide an update (which never came). I think my version 
is better an what is there, amongst others it is more end-of-line style 
proof. On Mac OS X, that is essential. Given the improvements, it is 
probably better that other architectures use my version.

I would not know why this should be different, and I suspect this is 
not the case with the just released new compile.
