    Which TL version do you (Karl, Staszek) when writing the documentation?

I have been using TL7 :).  Although I tested TL2003 installation many
times, my actual TeX runs on tldoc have been with the TL7 installed
either on tug.org or my home (Linux) machine.

I'm baffled as to why your fresh installation could not find ptmr7t.
Just a wild guess, some of those nasty environment variables that have
been plaguing you are still causing trouble.
