[tex-live] Windvi doesn't work - problem with mktexpk ?

I have installed TeXLive 6b on my computer, running under WinME

I have tried the "Quick Install" option, and the installation seemed to be
successful.

But when I run Windvi and try to open any .dvi file, it sends a list of
messages like this one:

kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode / --bdpi 600 --mag 1+57/600 --dpi 657

windvi: Can't find font cmss10.657pk

Apparently, it does that for every font found in the dvi file, and at the
end, I get a fatal error from windvi.
