[metapost] mpost and jobname

Hello METAPOST Team,

I have just noticed the following (unexpected) mpost behaviour:

mpost dummy.mp.mp

gives for jobname `dummy' not `dummy.mp' as expected.


I am running mpost on a daily updated Debain (Squeeze/testing) box:
mpost --version
gives
