Hi all,
I of course agree with Laurence:- it is deplorable
that exactly none of the monographs on computer
graphics that Laurence F. recommended are available
at my site (Orsay France).
On the other hand we do have some decent books. For
example,
V. Rovenskii, ``Geometry of curves and surfaces
with Maple'', Birkhauser, 2000.
You get a quick tour of some major features of
current computer graphics via Maple. The author is
quite knowlegable; the examples are well chosen
-- and not too complex.
It would be interesting to see what proportion of
the Maple examples can be conveniently recoded for
mp. How nice it would be if a future mp would
become an exchange format for scientific graphics.
In the sense that TeX is the one and only
respectible exchange format for math articles.
Cheers
LS
